Species
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is considered the most important continental center of endemism in the world.
The forests surrounding Hotel Terramia are home to more than 600 species of birds, equivalent to 35% of all birds recorded in Colombia and about 7% of the species on the planet.
Among them, 28 species and 42 endemic subspecies exist only in this magical mountain range.
From our trails and viewpoints you can see toucans, tanagers, hummingbirds and, with some luck, the elusive Santa Marta Parakeet or the Black-backed Hummingbird.
